Bought a 1984 dirt bike with no title/bill of sals, how can I register it?

I'm not sure if the owner who sold it to me is the first owner or if a second. He said he bought the bike 10+ years ago to ride on family property. Never registered it and has no papers. And I bought it. So how can i get some documentation from DMV?
